The Audie Murphy American Cotton Museum is located on 600 Interstate 30 East, in the city of Greenville, county of Hunt, in the US state of Texas. Founded in 1987. Cotton is Hunt County's greatest hunting crop in the early 20th century, and the museum has "The History of the Cotton Exhibition".
Most of the museum's focus is dedicated to military veterans. Honorary medalist Audie Murphy was born in Hunt County and worked in Greenville before entering the military. The Hunt County War Memorial was dedicated to the museum in 2004. This monument features a 10-foot-long bronze Murphy bronze created by the artist Greenville Gordon Thomas. The granite boulders that surround the monument are carved with the names of the dead war districts. The other stones contain quotes from Murphy, Franklin D. Roosevelt and Ronald Reagan.
In 2012, Audie L. Murphy Memorial VA Hospital in San Antonio moved the Murphy-related memorabilia collection to the museum for its permanent collection. The museum sponsors the Audie Murphy Days annual event, usually scheduled in June.
