Suspender or braces (English English, Australian English) is a cloth or leather strap worn over the shoulders to hold trousers. The rope can be attached, either entirely or only at the end of the joint, and most of the rope is made of woven fabric that forms the shape of X or Y on the back. Suspenders usually attach to pants with clips or buttons using a leather tab at the end. Outside the United States, the term suspender , or the suspender belt, refers to the clothing used to store the stockings. This is called a garter belt in American English.

History
There are several precursors for suspenders over the last 300 years, but the modern suspenders were first discovered in 1820 by Albert Thurston. They were once almost universally used, because the high cuts of mid-nineteenth and early twentieth century pants made the belts impractical. During the nineteenth century, suspenders were sometimes called galluses. Samuel Clemens, known for his work as author Mark Twain, patented the "Adjustable Ropes and Removable for Clothes" (ADSG), became one of the first to receive US patents for suspenders in 1871. After losing popularity during World War I, become accustomed to the uniform belt, the suspender is still a regular outfit throughout the 1920s. Because of their drawings as 'underwear', some men switched to belts during the 1930s because vests that hide suspenders became less used. This also indicates the switch in the security key position from the outside of the waist to the inside. The Life Magazine states in 1938 that 60% of American men choose belts over suspenders. Although the return of full-cut pants in the 1940s revived the suspenders, they did not dominate the belts again at the same level. However, in the UK they remain the norm for wearing suits and trousers.

Mode
While the suspenders have been in and out of fashion over the last century (alternating with belts in general preference), there has been a brief resurgence in interest, perhaps due to the style seen in movies like Wall Street . Many businesspeople, newscasters (such as Larry King in the United States) and professionals like lawyers also still wear suspenders.
Narrow narrow clip styles are also a typical part of the skinhead, and to a lesser extent, punk fashion. In skinhead and punk modes, the suspenders are usually between 3 / 4 and 1 inch wide (1.9 and 2.5Ã, cm).
The materials used to create suspenders also change over time, with newer additions such as rayon, a wear resistant synthetic fiber, now offered. The Woolen Boxcloth Traditional suspenders are still available but very expensive, a style often worn by senior lawyers in London. Generally, high-quality rayon with elastic webbing is a fabric used to create suspenders, with woven silk or cloth-clad tubes from factories such as Dugdale Bros of England also used.
Usage
Good quality smart suspenders are traditionally regarded as white collar, or upper middle class, wear. They are made attached to trousers with buttons sewn to belts. There are relatively few manufacturers currently in the UK, but the classic buttons at the end of 'reform' are also pretty much available in the US.
In a traditional or formal setting, it is considered as a carelessness to wear a belt and a suspender at the same time, though in the past this was not always the case. Furthermore, suspenders have traditionally been regarded as underwear and, as such, are deemed unseemly to be seen. From the time of their discovery until World War II, a vest, or jumper or cardigan for coolness in the summer, covered the suspenders to prevent indecency. Similarly, jumper and jacket make hidden clothes hidden. However, in the interwar period, men began to take off their jackets in public, and this sensitivity eroded over time. It is probably only in England that some 'dead people' still regard it as "gauche" to wear, for example, bright colored suspenders without jackets. Generally, it is now considered acceptable fashion, on both sides of the Atlantic, for male suspenders to be seen.
Pants for suspenders have buttons for tabbed skin; this may be outside, traditionally, or in pants that do not have a belt ring. With a belt loop, the studs will be sewn on the inside of the waist. Such trousers may also have a tall back in the form of a fishtail, though this is not common now; This style may also have additional straps that can be adjusted on the back, as well as two side regulators placed in most pants without a belt. The keypad should be placed approximately 3 to 3.5 inches (7.6 to 8.9 cm) apart, the same distance from the rear seam. At the front, the first button should be set above the main pleat or fold, the second button again about 3 to 3.5 inches (7.6 to 8.9 cm) apart. It is important to put the keys in the correct position, because the pants with the suspender should be a little loose to hang properly.
In the 2000s, it became fashionable for some younger women to wear suspenders, styles that emerged from the Mod style in the late 1960s to punk rock and skinhead styles from the late 1970s to the 1980s. One of the special exponents of this mode is Eurythmics vocalist Annie Lennox, whose styling is similar to cross-dressing as a male character, with dark suits and red suspenders. Unisex mode not only shows women wearing trousers and suspenders, but men with skirts with suspenders as accessories.
