Type and style

There are many Afghan styles: mi-a-minute , join-as-you-go afghan, motif and graphghan . Mile-a-minute afghans are usually made in a number of separate strips, with minimal stitching per strip, and then strips combined together. Single piece afghans is the simplest style to make and very popular among beginners. Joining while you are away, Africans are made up of many different parts, one of which begins where the last leaf is released. Afghan motifs, such as granny square, consist of many different small pieces, called motifs, boxes, or blocks. These motifs may be all the same designs or different designs, but they are usually the same size, for ease of joining. Some like the motive style because of its portability and design flexibility. Style motifs are still very popular and intricate designs to make blankets, scarves, ect. Although not a requirement, the edge or limit is most often added to finish the blanket well. Graphghan is an afghan, or blanket, created by following graphs in graphical form. There are three main methods for creating graphghan, Pixel crochet, Corner to corner crochet, and crochet rugs.
