Capri pants (also known as three-quarter trousers , capris , crop pants , b>, clam-diggers , flood pants , jam , highwaters , kulot , or toreador pants ) are longer pants than shorts but not long pants. They usually fall down between the knee and the calf or the length of the ankle. Capris is very popular in many countries; especially in the United States, Europe, Latin America and Asia.

History
Capri pants were introduced by fashion designer Sonja de Lennart in 1948. The name of these pants comes from the Italian island of Capri, where they rose to popularity in the late 1950s and early 60s. American actress Grace Kelly is one of the first movie stars to wear a capris on the island.
Capri pants were discovered by Neil Munro Roger.

Popularity
The reception of Capris in the United States was influenced by the 1960s television series The Dick Van Dyke Show . Character Laura Petrie, a young housewife played by Mary Tyler Moore, caused the sensation of fashion - and some mild controversy - by wearing capri pants that fit on the sidelines of the show. In the mid-1960s, tight capri-style cargoes became popular among teenage boys; a good example is the superstar teenage actor of that era, Luke Halpin, who wears on some popular episodes of Flipper. After a decline in popularity during the 1970s to the 1990s, capris was again favored in the mid-2000s. Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal wore capri pants in most of his matches before 2009. But capri pants are out of favor.
