Birthday is the date when an event occurred or an institution was established in the previous year, and may also refer to the memorial or celebration of the event. For example, the first event is an initial event or, if planned, the event's inauguration. A year later will be the first anniversary of the event. The word was first used for Catholic feasts to commemorate the saints.
Most countries celebrate national anniversaries, usually called national days. This could be the date of national independence or the adoption of a new constitution or form of government. Important dates in the reign of the sitting king can also be commemorated, an event often referred to as the "jubilee".

The Latin phrase dies natalis (literally "birthday") has become a generic term, adopted in many languages, especially intellectually and institutionally, for the anniversary of the establishment ("legal or legal birth") of a institutions, such as alma mater (college or other schools). Numerical names derived from Latin
The Latin term for most immediate warnings, especially with respect to the first twenty years (1-20), or multiples of ten years (30, 40, 60, 70 etc.), or multiples of the century or millennium (100, 200, 300, 1000 , 2000, 3000, etc.) In this example, the name of the anniversary is generally derived from the Latin (s) for each year. However, when anniversaries are associated with centuries-old fragments (125, 150, 175, 250 years - 1.25, 1.5, 1.75, and 2.5 century), the situation is not that simple.
The Roman faction is based on the duodecimal system. From / 12 to 8 / 12 they are expressed as a multiple of twelfths ( uncia "twelfth"; the source of the English words inch and ounce ) and from 9 / 12 to 11 / 12 they are expressed as some twelfths less of all subsequent units - ie all units less 3 / 12 , 2 / 12 or 1 / 12 respectively. There are also special terms for quarter (quadrans ), half ( like ), and three quarters ( dodrans ). In Latin, it seems that this rule does not apply exactly to 1½. While secundus is Latin for "second", and bis for "twice", these terms are not used as in sesqui-secundus. Instead sesqui (or ses ) is used by itself.

Many anniversaries have a special name. Ethiopia in Society, in Business, in Politics and at Home by Emily Post, published in 1922, contains suggestions for wedding anniversary gifts for 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 50, and 75 years. The suggestion of a wedding anniversary gift for other years is added in the next edition and publication; they now consist of what is called a "traditional" list. In general, the longer the period, the more valuable or long-lasting the material associated with it. In addition, there are a number of partially overlapping and partial lists of birthday gifts (like marriage stones), separate from the 'traditional' name.
The concept of one's birthday stone and the zodiac stone, on the contrary, is set to live according to the day of the week, month, or astrology signature that corresponds to the birthday of the recipient.
